’twas the day after Christmas
and all through the land,
every creature was stirring
with new gifts in hand.
The fire is out,
the wrapping laid bare,
and holiday music
does not fill the air.
The traffic is thinning
and we can now go,
to return all those gifts
for some much needed dough.
The season is over
and oh how we cheer,
as we patiently wait
for this time next year!
